Young Leaders Conclave in New Delhi

Modern School Vasant Vihar is playing host to the second Young Leaders Conclave (YLC), until August 12, 2014.

Hosting with the theme of ‘leadership with an eye on governance’, the gathering is comprised of 69 students from 18 schools across India – including The Scindia School, Gwalior;  Mayo College, Ajmer; La Martiniere Kolkata;   Welham Girls’ School, Dehradun;  Maharani Gayatri  Devi School, Jaipur;  Modern High School, Kolkata Hiranandani Foundation, Mumbai; DPS RK Puram; DPS Vasant Kunj ; Modern School , Barakhamba, The Mother’s International School; Sanskriti School; Vasant Valley; Shri Ram, Moulsari and  Convent  of  Jesus and Mary.

“YLC is a movement, not a competition,” said Modern School Vasant Vihar Principal Meenakshi Sahni. She emphasised compassionate leadership towards an equal society and urged the future leaders not to allow the fire of leadership to die. She appealed to the participants to break free from myths and become lifelong sensitive leaders.

Utilizing workshops and interaction with leading thought-makers, the students have had the chance to listen in to a talk from India’s Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, Human Resources Minister Smriti Irani, and media personality Dr. Prannoy Roy, among others.
