Check out these four spooky podcasts for scary season

28 Oct

For Halloween, we bring you four podcasts that will help set the atmosphere for this season. You can get your fill of urban legends and ancient myth or find out the truth to historical legends without any of the gory images that accompany a televised adaptation.

Enjoy!

1. Myths and Legends: Hands down one of our favourite podcasts. The podcast is published every Wednesday on both Spotify and Apple. These are stories of magic, kings, Vikings, dragons, knights, princesses, and wizards – legends which have shaped the folklore which has captured imaginations for millennia.
Don’t miss out!

2. Lore: Created in 2015 by Aaron Mahnke, the series has millions of listeners every month. The podcast focuses on dark historical tales filled with superstition and folklore that have become legend – however it is based on non-fiction. If you think history is boring – Lore will change your mind!

3. Haunted Places: In each episode, host Greg Polcyn takes listeners across new haunted locations. Whether it’s the Winchester Mystery House or the Paris Catacombs, each episode features historical tales and spooky sound effects. New episodes are released every Thursday.

4. Family Ghosts: The podcast explores legends of mysterious ancestors who changed everything for the family. This could be uncles who led double lives or siblings who vanished without a trace. Hosted by Moth Grand Slam winner Sam Dingman, the series was launched in 2017 and publishes a new episode every week.
